Epping Forest Green Party are delighted that the City of London have agreed to end the contract with Capreolus Club to hunt deer in Epping Forest.

We accept that deer numbers have to be managed but we believe that paid wardens should take care of that work, as they have been doing, rather than blood sports enthusiasts.

The decision to end Capreolus Club's contract is a testament to the power of the public. We're proud to have played a small part in the campaign.

A decision about the future of deer management in Epping Forest will be made in the new year. We'll do all we can to ensure that the work is carried out by directly employed, professional wardens rather than a third party.
